SEC Testimonials & Videos

After my trip to Israel this summer, I have gained an appreciation for the land and people of Israel that I never felt and never thought I would feel. The warmth, hospitality and sense of belonging that you feel there is something you never feel anywhere else in the world. The SEC trip showed me what Israel truly is like and how important it should be to me.

Douglas Cross once wrote those words which Tony Bennett imortalized, "I left my heart in San Francisco". It is obvious to me that neither of them have ever been to Israel because if they had that line would read "I found my heart in Israel". I thought I knew who I was as a person before going on this trip, however, I was mistaken. My time in Israel proved to be a time of spiritual and emotional growth, as well as self discovery like I had never before experienced in my life. Don't get me wrong, the trip was an AMAZINGLY FUN time as well. I truly believe that the times of fun that didn't seem like they were a "growing experience" were essential to the process of self discovery which I went through on this trip. The memories that were made, and the friendships which were formed, are ones that will most certainly last a lifetime. The process of growth, learning, and self discovery did not end when I left Israel either. Each day I am striving to learn more and something new about who I am and how I can use who I am to serve both G-d and people in a greater capacity than I have in the past. In short, this trip to Israel took me, shook me, and sent me home a new and more complete person than I ever thought possible.

By going to Israel and seeing it, falling in love with it, and with all the people that traveled with me, is the experience I will treasure forever. This was one of the best things I have ever done. Its a great thing, to love your people, your homeland and everything that comes with it. We were chosen for a reason, to experience this event and all the magical things that happened because of it. This feeling left inside me will not go away any time soon, and hopefully soon I will be back to experience that feeling once again, for sure.

Birthright changed me in ways that I never knew were possible. I am a completely different person now and I have very different views on life. I am so appreciative for having experienced Israel the way I did. I truly believe that everyone should go to Israel with birthright once in their lives.

"When I first walked off the plane into Israel I was 'welcomed home.' It was not until I spent my first 10 days of travel that I truly knew what that meant. Birthrite gave me perspective on the importance of my homeland."

Israel was more amazing then words can say. It changed my life and jewish identity forever. I hope to grow more and keep Israel a part of me and pass my love for it to the next generation .
